About Boaz David

Hi, I’m Boaz David, a business performance coach for creative leaders in the fashion industry and the founder and CEO of Human B, a design, development, and production company.

MY STORY
I came to NY from Israel in 1996 with only $1000 in my pocket, an address of two great friends who said I could crash on their couch, one phone number of someone who works in the fashion industry, and a dream of having my own clothing brand. I had never been to NY (or even the US) before in my life, and other than seeing pictures and videos, I had no idea what I was getting myself into… I also had no clue how I would build a career in this new (I should say ‘crazy’) city.

I hit the ground running. After one retail experience, within six months, I was working in the industry and got my first real experience being part of starting and building a successful fashion brand from the ground up. And WOW, was that ever a great experience! The brand was Yigal Azrouel which, over the years, became one of the most acclaimed fashion brands in NY. I then moved on to work with a couple of other start-up brands like Nili Lotan and Alice and Trixie, among others... 8 years after landing at JFK, I got to start my own fashion brand. 

Here is the funny part… Have you ever had that experience where you wanted something so bad and when you finally got it, it was not at all what you thought it would be? 

Yep, you guessed it... I didn't like having my own brand. I didn't like the day to day. I didn't like being in the front.... Overall, that experience didn’t match my personality and what I loved doing. After 4 years, I closed the line and was seriously considering getting out of the industry altogether.

But, as you know, life surprises us. One thing led to another, and I found myself working with entrepreneurs and creative leaders like yourself who had started their own fashion brands, but didn’t have experience in the industry and needed help navigating the waters. This is when Human B, my current company, was started. That’s where I found my true passion and purpose – helping other creatives make their dream brand a reality.
